FAQ

FOR BUYERS: BUYING PROCESS FOR DOMAIN NAME

Q: Who is the brokerage service handling the sale of the domain name I’m interested in?

A: Buy.Name is the brokerage service handling the sale. A domain name agent representing the domain name will be listed on the right side of the “Make An Offer” page.

Q: How does the domain name buying process work?

A: You’ll make an offer on the domain name you would like to purchase. The seller of the domain name will either accept your offer or send back a counter-offer.

Q: If the seller of the domain name has accepted my offer on the domain name, what happens next?

A: You’ll receive an email with a direct purchase link on Escrow.com. There, you’ll make the purchase with the payment option of your choice.

Q: How do I receive the domain name from the seller?

A: You’ll either be given the auth code to transfer to the domain registrar of your choice or an access code (user and password) of the domain name account of where domain name is located. If given an access code, you'll need to change the password of the account and correct any contact information after you’ve gained control of the name.

Q: How long does it take before I can access the domain name.

A: Anywhere from the same day to up to seven days.

Q: Can I return the domain name and get a refund?

A: No. All domain name purchases are final and non-refundable.
